“Finally rafted the Franklin, what an adventure.”
After visiting Tasmania and the lower Gordon in the late 70’s with my family, marching in Sydney to stop the damming of the Franklin and finally getting to fulfil a dream of my dad’s (just turned 80) and mine to raft the Franklin River.
I researched and called all the tour operators and felt most comfortable with Water by Nature and what a great choice it was.
We did the 7-day full river tour with a group of family and friends, if you are looking for a trip with adventure in the wilderness then this is a trip you can’t miss out on. There are not many places where you can travel for Days and see no civilization what a bliss. and the food will blow you away (it is making my mouth water thinking about the meals) from prawns, to sticky date pudding and many more delicious meals.
The river is wild and at all times we felt safe in the hands of our guilds. If you are thinking about doing the trip give Water by Nature a call you won’t be disappointed.
Don’t forget your Go Pro if you have one, if not don’t worry as they supply you with a great DVD of you trip. Cant wait to go back

“Franklin River 7 Day with Water by Nature”
A fabulous adventure safely guided by Brett and Klaudia. Just returned from our full moon 7 day full river from 25 March to 7 April 2016.
My three daughters and I found it exciting, challenging and beautiful and would recommend it highly to anyone with a spirit of adventure who wants to see nature at its best.

“Outstanding Franklin Rafting Odyssey”
From the wonderful rafting guides, Marlow and Dan to the magnificent Franklin River in Tasmania’s SW wilderness, and the diversity of experience and scenery with a spice of adventure and wild water, this was a really wonderful experience. Water by Nature provided everything we needed and as a family group we found ourselves fully immersed in the experience enjoying every minute of the full 10 days. The only downside was finishing, as we would have loved another 10 days. We were fortunate to have rainfall, bringing the river to an almost perfect rafting height – so after only one day of low water with plenty of dragging the rafts, none days of adventurous rapids and flowing stretches meant we had one of the world’s best wild water rafting adventures. there was not one moment where we felt unsafe, as Marlow and Dan ensured we portaged or roped down any rapids that were unnavigable or beyond our capacity. We would all love to do the whole trip again.

“Franklin River with Water by Nature”
This is truly the trip of a lifetime. I don’t think I have ever felt so relaxed. Some serious rapids for adrenalin heads, some awesome scenery for wilderness lovers and some gourmet meals for the foodies. Through in the most competent guides you could ever want, top quality gear and an easy booking/planning website, and you have the complete package. I’ll be doing it again.

“Not just rafting, it’s a true wilderness adventure”
I did a 10 day trip in Jan 2016 with Water by Nature. Claudia and Brett know everything about this river and how to get people down it. Across the trip we experienced a lot of different things: hard paddling, serene quiet spots, hiking, great food, camping under the stars, exciting rapids. I can recommend this trip and can assure you that you will be talking about it for years to come. Oh and the most important recommendation, wear Dunlop Volley shoes, no ifs, no butts, no your favourite joggers are not good enough, yes it does really matter.

“Best Trip Ever”
As we were traveling to Tasmania for the first time, I wanted to see some real wilderness. Found a 7-day trip on the Franklin with Water by Nature. Best decision.
Water by Nature, from beginning to end, provided an amazing white-water rafting adventure. And not your Disney type trip. Real, wilderness, wet, adventure.
My compliments to Brett and his crew of guides. They were professional, friendly and very protective of all of us.
Even the weather was perfect. Great equipment. Wonderful food.
Now, don’t get me wrong. This trip was a lot of work. You paddle, get wet, climb rocks, and get tired. But it is a very good tired.
There are few real wilderness experiences for the average person. This is one of the best.

“Awesome adventure with Water By Nature”
We were blessed with perfect conditions: weather and river level just right. Add to that, plentiful fresh food, unique scenery and wild treasures unlike any elsewhere in Tassie (thank you, thank you to those who helped save this precious wilderness area) and guides who I thought were demonstrably expert in their field (not that I know a thing about rafting guiding) and you have the right mix for a very active, challenging adventure with safety aspects managed as well as can be.
I think pre trip fitness is a must for your own comfort, safety and enjoyment on the river.
Thanks to Brett, Klaudia and Scott for working so hard to prepare, plan and guide. Your seemingly tireless efforts were much appreciated to make for a trip that is on the list of “best things I have ever done”.
To everyone else, just go there with Water By Nature!!

“A true wilderness experience”
Our rafting trip down the Franklin River was an amazing, remote, true wilderness experience. I don’t think there are too many places like this were not a sign of human habitation can be seen over such a distance, No houses, no motors, no litter, just beautiful natural scenery day after day. Our guides from Water by Nature, Brett, Klaudia and Scott were highly organised and skilled, something I learnt to appreciate in some of the more adrenaline charged parts of the river as they safely navigated us through some tricky situations. The cool waters and paddling quickly built up a hunger which was more than satisfied at each break and meal time. The guides regularly turned out delicious, varied and nutritious food. We started to wonder if we were going to put on weight, despite the energy expenditure on the water. Every dish was so good and given the conditions, I can’t rate the food highly enough. By the trip end, we were tired but exhilarated having experienced this wild and beautiful place.
